Ivor Prickett

Ivor Prickett, born in 1983 in the Republic of Ireland, lives and works in Istanbul. In recent years, working exclusively for the New York Times, he has spent months in Ukraine, Syria and Iraq, documenting conflicts firsthand through images and words. Prickett’s work has been recognized by institutions such as World Press Photo, the Pulitzer Prizes, the Overseas Press Club Awards, Pictures of the Year International, Foam Talent, the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize and the Ian Parry Scholarship. He was shortlisted for the 2018 Pulitzer Prize and the 2019 Prix Pictet. His work has been exhibited at institutions including the Victoria and Albert Museum, London; Sotheby’s, London; Foam Gallery, Amsterdam; and the National Portrait Gallery, London. Steidl published Prickett’s End of the Caliphate in 2019.
