Visionen presents a suit of 21 resinotypes by Karl Lagerfeld featuring subjects including Christy Turlington and Stella Tennant. Beginning in 1996 Lagerfeld experimented with resinotypes, a photographic process using alkaline bichromates and pioneered by Louis-Alphonse Poitevin (1819–82).

Starting with 6 x 6 color slides, Lagerfeld first obtained prints to which pigments were carefully applied with a paintbrush and heated to become set. The atmospheric painterly results evidence the transformation of a historic uprocess into decidedly modern pictures.
