Lynne Cohen, born in 1944 in the US and living in Canada since 1973, has been photographing public and private interiors for the past four decades. She has exhibited extensively and has held major retrospectives in Canada, France and Switzerland. Cohen’s books include Occupied Territory (1988), No Man’s Land (2001), Camouflage (2005) and Cover (2009). She has received many awards, including the inaugural Scotiabank Photography Award (2011) and the Governor General’s Award in Visual and Media Arts (2005).
