Shin Matsunaga

1940 in Tokio geboren, studierte Shin Matsunaga an der Designfakultät der Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. Nach dem Studienabschluss im Jahr 1964 begann er seine gestalterische Tätigkeit in der Werbeabteilung des Kosmetikunternehmens Shiseido und machte sich 1971 mit seinem eigenen Studio Shin Matsunaga Design in Tokio selbständig. Arbeiten von Shin Matsunaga werden in zahlreichen Museen rund um den Globus bewahrt – darunter das Museum of Modern Art New York, das Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum in New York, das Victoria & Albert Museum London und Die Neue Sammlung München. Zu seinen wichtigsten Publikationen gehören Super Market – The Design Works of Shin Matsunaga, Graphic Cosmos – The World of Shin Matsunaga und Talk about Designing by Shin Matsunaga + 11.
