FOTO WIEN 2023

FOTO WIEN is the largest biennial photography festival in Austria. For an entire month, ninty program partners — museums, cultural institutions, galleries, educational establishments, studios and off spaces — will participate in the tenth edition of FOTO WIEN 2023. During the month, Vienna will host a festival of visual media, with exhibitions, presentations, and extremely varied special events held all over the city. The various perspectives and voices of artists, curators, gallerists, and scholars show the richness of the medium of photography as a social tool to reflect and communicate in the world.

We are happy to publish the catalog accompanying the jubilee edition of FOTO WIEN and Gerhard Steidl also curated the exhibition "How to Make a Book with Steidl" at MQ Salon. "How to Make a Book with Steidl" provides detailed information about design issues, choosing the right paper, and printing and binding, offering unique insight into a special, traditional culture that is still analog. The exhibition will be on view until 20 August 2023.
