Bill Burke, geboren 1943, studierte an der Rhode Island School of Design. Seine Fotografien werden weltweit ausgestellt und sind Teil zahlreicher Sammlungen, u.a.: International Center of Photography, Metropolitan Museum of Art und Museum of Modern Art New York, Smithsonian Institution Washington, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, J. Paul Getty Museum Los Angeles. Seine Arbeit wurde mit dem John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship und fünfmal vom National Endowment for the Arts gefördert. Bill Burke lehrt an der Schule des Museum of Fine Arts in Boston und lebt in Dorchester, Massachusetts.
