David Lynch, born in Montana in 1946, spent his childhood drawing and painting. In 1965, he went to study at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, where he discovered a passion for moving images and made his first experimental short film. He is now among the world’s most talented directors, receiving a Golden Lion in 2006 to honour his career. Throughout his life, David Lynch has never stopped painting, drawing, photographing, and making animated films. He has even broadened his artistic practice to include animation, music composition, and sound production.
