Born in 1968 in Zurich, Hans Ulrich Obrist is one of today’s most influential curators of contemporary art. Since his first exhibition in 1991, Obrist has curated hundreds of projects and worked with foremost artists including Louise Bourgeois, Félix González-Torres and Gerhard Richter. He is artistic director of the Serpentine Galleries in London where his pioneering projects include “Take Me (I’m Yours)” and the Serpentine Marathons. Obrist is furthermore a prolific author and editor; his books include Ways of Curating (2014), The Age of Earthquakes: A Guide to the Extreme Present (2015), and 140 Artists’ Ideas for Planet Earth (2021).
