Mario Testino

Born in 1954 in Lima, Peru, Mario Testino is one of the most influential photographers of his generation. He has produced images for leading publications including Vogue, Vanity Fair and GQ, and for major fashion houses such as Chanel, Gucci and Versace. Over more than four decades, Testino has built an extensive body of work spanning the editorial, commercial and artistic worlds, and has photographed many of our most prominent cultural figures, actors, musicians, sports and fashion icons. His work has been the subject of high-profile museum exhibitions including “Portraits,” which broke attendance records at London’s National Portrait Gallery, and toured to acclaim in Europe, Asia and the Americas. In recent years Testino has focused on “A Beautiful World,” an ongoing project documenting cultural traditions and expressions of identity across countries, reflecting his long-standing interest in diversity, heritage and shared humanity. Testino has received Peru’s Grand Cross of the Order of Merit (2010), an honorary OBE in the United Kingdom (2014) and France’s Legion of Honor (2017).
