Guitarist and composer Anthony Wilson explores the fleeting intimacies of the everyday and steps beyond the jazz idiom into a personal world of sound and images. Songs and Photographs comes from his daily activity of wandering with a 35mm camera and notebook, until lines from one place and time find their partners in lines from another place and time, melodies appear, rhymes and meters coalesce, and harmonies resolve themselves into a work for the ears and eyes.

The edition includes an audiophile vinyl LP and 48-page photo book, developed and designed in collaboration with Nina Holland at Little Steidl. The set was printed by Holland on Little Steidl’s Roland 200 offset-lithographic press. The recording was produced by “tone poet” Joe Harley and includes a master cast of players: Gerald Clayton, Joshua Crumbly, Patrick Warren, and Jay Bellerose.
