Michael Galinsky

Michael Galinsky, born in 1969 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is a musician, filmmaker and photographer. Throughout the 1990s he was a member of the band Sleepyhead and documented the underground rock world through film and photography. His work has been published in Option, Chemical Imbalance, Tape Op, Puncture, Copper Press and onalbum covers. Galinsky and his partner, Suki Hawley, have collaborated on five feature length films: Half-Cocked (1994), Radiation (1999), Horns and Halos (2002), Code 33 (2005) and Battle for Brooklyn (2010). In 2012 Galinsky received a Guggenheim fellowship.
