Mikael Olsson

Mikael Olsson was born in 1969 in Lerum and is based in Stockholm, Sweden. He studied photography at the University of Gothenburg. In his previous work Södrakull Frösakull (Steidl, 2011), he portrays the relationship between man, nature and architecture in a series of images that invoke questions concerning memory, space, time and structures. Olsson is represented by Galerie Nordenhake (Stockholm / Berlin). He has had solo exhibitions both in Sweden and abroad and participated in several group exhibitions and biennials, including the architecture biennial in Venice 2018. In addition to his art, he has acted and appeared in films such as Ruben Östlund's Gold Palm Winning “The Square” (2017, Luca Guadagninos “Suspiria” (2018) and Isaac Juliens “Lessons of the hours” (2019).
